This year I am again walking the Jimmy Fund Walk to help raise funds to support Dana-Farber. This walk is important to me for many reasons - the most important women in my life passed away from cancer. These women are my mom (Barbara Cohen), my grandmother (Sarah Feldman) and my aunt (Dolores (Dolly) Weinstein).
Because of my Aunt Dolly's being a patient, I became involved with Dana-Farber in helping with picking up prescriptions for her as I worked in the Longwood area. Even though she did not survive, she and my Uncle Check were very impressed with her doctors and care she received.
I have been working at Dana-Farber for over 15 years in the Research Administration areas - first Research Accounting for 12 1/2 years and for over 2 1/2 years in Grants and Contracts as a Grant Management Officer. As part of my role I review grant applications that the doctor's prepare with their staff for trying to find new ways to cure cancer.
I feel very proud to be part of Dana-Farber and am lucky to have a great place to work!
When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
