For our second year participating in the walk, we have changed our name to ROW THE BOAT, in honor of our friend PJ Ferrier, who lost his very courageous battle with osteosarcoma in December. We all know someone who has faced this disease. Cancer treatment is changing so quickly, it is because of our supporters that we will eventually find a cure. #ferrierstrong #tealwarrior
The meaning of ROW THE BOAT, in PJ's words:
The first part is the OAR which is the energy you bring to everyday life; your oars are in the water rowing 100%
The second part is the BOAT which is the sacrifice, what are you willing to give up to have something you’ve never had before
The third part is the CURRENT that’s your society, who you surround yourself with, so if your oars are out of the water you are just completely getting pushed around by society, but if you have 100% of your energy, even if there are strong tides, you are really moving in your direction
When you are ROWING you are actually in the present, giving your energy to everyday, your back is to the future where you don’t know what’s ahead, some kind of storm or calm water #indomitablewill
