By participating in the 2022 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai, our team is making every step count toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
It has been a few years since Team Every Step for Emma has been able to participate. I thought it was fitting to bring back her team this year as I try to honor her and her memory on her 10 Year anniversary. Please support my efforts to raise money to support research for this horrible cancer called Neuroblastoma. I have decided to have our funds dedicated directly to the Freddie Fund. I pledge to raise $10,000 for this event.
The Freddie Fund supports research in to pediatric cancer, with a focus on high risk neuroblastoma, in the hope that new developments can be found to improve the standard of care and outcomes for children.
Funds raised are used to develop clinical trials, improved screening/detection, and improve standard of care under the direction of Dana Farber/Boston Children's Hospital doctors and investigators.
This fund is inspired by Freddie Page, who was diagnosed in July 2020 with high risk neuroblastoma. He is being treated at at Dana Farber/Boston Children's Hospital on an 18-month treatment protocol, which includes 5 rounds of chemotherapy, surgery, 2 bone marrow transplants, 2 types of radiation, and immunotherapy. Freddie is currently showing no evidence of disease, but his treatment continues to reduce the risk of relapse as much as possible. https://blog.jimmyfund.org/2021/09/freddie-inspires-progress-and-hope-for-neuroblastoma-research/
Thank you for supporting my Jimmy Fund Walk fundraising efforts. Together, we can defy cancer!
