This is our 6th year participating in the Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk, taking steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
Please join us in supporting groundbreaking research on Merkel Cell Cancer.
Merkel Cell Carcinoma (MCC) is an aggressive form of skin cancer that is on the rise. The number of reported cases of MCC has tripled in the last 20+ years. Yet while this rate of increase has been faster than any other skin cancer, MCC remains an orphan disease. Despite many momentous advances in the last decade in both knowledge and therapeutic options for this terrible disease, there remain many unanswered questions, controversies over optimal management, and patients and families who continue to suffer.
Now for some good news: In the years since we started walking for MCC, significant advances have been made. Immunotherapy response rates have helped extend the lives of many of our patients. However, there remain patients who do not respond to approved treatments, and for them, the money we raise can give new hope for a cancer-free future.
