WHY WE'RE FUNDRAISING WITH THE JIMMY FUND WALK TO FIGHT CANCER
The Trustees Trekkers came together through our love of hiking properties of The Trustees of Reservations and the desire to pair that with a cause that has affected all of us. Last year (just our second year), The Trustees Trekkers was awarded the 2023 Corporate Spotlight Award for going above and beyond in both recruitment and fundraising. Our mighty team of 19 had raised over $19,000. In just our second year, we were #10 in Corporate Fundraising out of 54 teams!
We invite Trustees members and non-members, friends, and employees to join the team either by walking the route or virtually. Team members will be starting at each of the starting points but you can jump in and join us at any point along the way and celebrate together as we cross the finish line at the Boston Garden. We will be sending out encouraging emails, coordinate team walks, and provide more details about our plans for Walk Day as we get closer. If you choose to walk virtually, we encourage you to walk/hike on a Trustees property of your choice.
The Jimmy Fund Walk, now in its 36th year, provides over 9,200 participants the opportunity to raise money for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute all in honor or memory of friends, family, co-workers, and patients facing all forms of cancer. All dollars raised goes to support research and patient care at the Dana-Farber. It is an inspiring event and last year the Walk raised an amazing $9.4 million.
