Dear Family & Friends,
On Sunday, September 22nd, I will walk the 26.2 mile route from Hopkinton to Boston for the seventh year in a row to raise money for The Jimmy Fund. Each year, we continue to walk in my dad, Bruce’s, memory who lost his 10 year battle with prostate cancer last year. He was the person that could always put a smile on my face, whose ridiculous jokes always made me laugh, and who was the most lovable dad I could have ever asked for.
My dad's overwhelming pride, huge smile on his face, and big bear hugs at the finish line are what I miss most about this day. But with The BRU CrEw, it’s hard not to find our smiles and laughs, exactly what my dad would have wanted. This year, we welcomed the newest member of The BRU CrEw, our sweet Benji who will join us and help get us through those last 6 miles.
This year, we also walk in loving memory of Matt’s grandmother, Florence, who we lost last month. These two incredibly important people in our lives had a lot of similarities. They both had the biggest hearts, best senses of humor, and most importantly lived for their families. They both touched so many lives, and we hope to do the same by raising funds, so that one day we will live in a world without cancer.
With love and thanks,
