On October 4, 2020, I am participating in the 2020 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai, taking steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer! This will be my 11th year walking.
I walk for my husband, Pete, who has been treating at Dana Farber for non-Hodgkin lymphoma for a few years now. He has an amazing team, and we are so grateful for all they do for him and our family. We have learned firsthand the incredible work The Jimmy Fund and Dana Farber Cancer has done to change the odds for cancer patients and their families.
I also walk in memory of my parents who both lost their battles with cancer, my best friend, Dawn, who lost her battle with metastatic breast cancer in December, my aunt and godmother, Peggy, who lost her battle with metastatic breast cancer last summer, my cousin, Chris, who lost his battle with brain cancer a year ago. I walk to support my sister in law, Kam, who is an ovarian cancer survivor as well as aunts, uncles, other cousins and friends that are battling this disease and some who have lost their battles.
When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
