My younger brother, Todd Schwartz, was diagnosed with cancer in 2002 while he was in high school. Two years later, he was gone. Every year when I lace up my sneakers, my goal is the same - to ensure that more kids like Todd finish college happy, healthy, and looking forward to all the future holds. Cancer took that away from Todd. I walk in his honor, in his memory, and in support of all the families facing cancer every day. Our ultimate goal is the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
When you make a gift to Team Todd, every cent goes to the laboratory of Dr. Loren Walensky where amazing things are happening. Loren was Todd's oncologist. More importantly, he was Todd's friend, confidant, and champion. To me, Loren is family. He also happens to be brilliant. Your dollars will provide Loren the ability to hire the best scientists in the world, purchase the most cutting edge equipment to develop new cancer fighting drugs, and will continue to make Boston the place where the best of the best want to come to help families fight cancer.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk again this year. Thank you for helping me remember my brother. Thank you for trusting that with every step I take during the 2020 Jimmy Fund Walk, I am putting your dollars to work so that there are more Todds in the world.
