On Sunday, September 22, I will walk the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk for the THIRD year! Once again, I've pledged to raise funds that will be used to support critical cancer research and innovative pediatric and adult patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
For the past two years, I walked the 26.2 miles in honor of and memory of the many people I know who have braved cancer. Some have successfully overcome the disease, others still battle, others still have passed away. My hope is the funds I raise will help more people survive and live long and fulfilling lives.
Let me not forget to mention the cancer survivor who stood next to his personalized sign at mile 19.5 looked at me with tears in his eyes and said, "Thank you, thank you so much. I hope you never have to know how much this means to me." I hope I never have to know, I hope YOU never have to know, I hope nobody ever has to know...won't you join me to support this worthy cause? I know it's cliche, but every little bit does help!
When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Please join me in the fight against cancer by considering a contribution of any amount, it all helps toward my fundraising efforts.
It's easy to have an impact on this important and universal cause. You can:
- Make a gift online: give directly through my fundraising page:
- Send in a check: Write a check payable to "Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk" with my name and participant ID 1003343 in the memo line and send it directly to the Jimmy Fund Walk at:
