Family and Friends,
On Sunday, September 23rd, I will once again lace up my sneakers to walk along the famed Boston Marathon route in the 2018 Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk! This year is the Jimmy Fund Walk’s 30th Anniversary and I’m proud to say I have been a part of this event for 27 years.
This will be my 28th time making this walk along the historic Boston Marathon Route. Again, this year, I find myself reflecting on the many people I have known who have been affected by cancer. I myself was diagnosed and treated for melanoma this year and I am so grateful that I go for screenings every year. My main reason and focus for participating in this event has always been and will continue to be about the kids. No child deserves a childhood revolving around this disease. Once again our team has been honored to represent one of the walk hero’s. A walk hero has their picture on a mile marker along the course. Our hero this year is 8 year old Delaney. She was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor at 18 months old. She loves animals and playing with her best friend. Her vision is now reduced to about ¼ in one eye only. Her Mom tells me she’s an amazing and happy little girl. Please join me in the fight against cancer by considering a contribution toward my fundraising efforts. So many strides have been made in research and treatment over the last several years. Much needed patient and family care are the results of any donation (large or small) made to the Jimmy Fund and Dana Farber.
It's easy to have an impact on this important and universal cause. You can:
