Well, it’s that time of year again! On Sunday, October 4th I will once again be doing the annual Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk to help raise money to cure cancer for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. This will be my 15th year walking and to date, I have personally raised nearly $48,000 for Dana Farber and the Jimmy Fund. My goal this year is to raise over $1500 in the fight against cancer. I can only achieve this goal with the help of my family and friends.
As you all know, my dad underwent a bone marrow transplant for myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) at Dana Farber in 2012. I am so happy to say that dad is back to his usual healthy, crazy self! He is enjoying time gardening, woodworking, hanging with his brothers, and spending lots of time with his grandsons.
We can’t thank Dana Farber enough for helping my dad beat his disease. However, we can help them raise money in their fight to end cancer. The amazing progress Dana-Farber has made in understanding and treating cancer is made possible by generous donations from people such as yourself.
I hope you will support my efforts by contributing to my Walk. With your gift, we will all be closer to the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
