I am participating in the 2023 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk on Sunday, October 1. This will be my 8th year walking in this very important event.
When cancer touches you, you are forever changed. That is certainly what happened in our family when my brother, Richard Fox, was diagnosed with cancer in 2010 and then again when my husband, Marshall Gould, was diagnosed with the very same cancer in 2015. The journey has been different for each of these wonderful men in my life. They have both fought their disease with courage, strength and always with humor. The care they have received from the Head and Neck team at Dana Farber has been amazing. We feel so grateful to have access to this world class facility that treats not only the disease, but the whole person.
I walk to honor these two amazing men. I also walk for the many friends and family members who have been touched by cancer. Some have completed treatment successfully and are doing well. Others are still in the fight. Too many fought valiantly but ultimately lost the battle. All are my heroes!
