My friends and I started walking in the Jimmy Fund Cancer Walk since 2016. We all have our own reasons but ultimately we walk in honor of so many millions of people that have been affected by this horrible disease. We also walk in hope of finding a cure.
My reason for walking is that both of my parents ended up getting cancer diagnoses. My mom got diagnosed with Colon Cancer. My dad within a few short weeks got diagnosed with a form of Leukemia. Both ended up with a good outcome and are cancer free but I know some are not as lucky and that it needs to be taken care of so that ultimately we live in a world where they have a cure and that a person can live as long of a life as they can.
When you make a gift to my walk, you're directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
