On Sunday, September 23, I will once again be participating in the Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk. I am grateful for your support.
I was diagnosed with Stage IV Renal Cell Carcinoma on Marathon Monday 2014. I cannot believe it has been 4 years. I just had my CT Scans and my scans indicated stable disease, minimal growth of a few tumors in lungs and no growth of tumors in my lymph nodes. I just started my 33rd cycle on Sutent (6 week cycles) on my clinical trial. Yes! Can you believe it? I am still on the clinical trial. The average progression of tumors is 11 months, we are kicking it!. We dose reduced 15 weeks ago due to side effects and am tolerating the chemotherapy much better. Thanks to all of your support I am giving it a good fight. Our dollars donated go directly to the medical team at Dana Farber, the Genitourinary Cancer Center team at Dana-Farber led by Dr. Toni Choueiri, who are caring for me. Their research and care is making a difference for so many patients.
If you are able, I would love for you to walk with me on Sunday, September 23, I will join thousands of walkers in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. I started “I’m with Joe” Team with my family, friends, and colleagues. Will you join me? We had 30 walkers on our team last year and would love for our team to grow.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer! With your ongoing support, I know that we will move closer to the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
Thank you for your continued generosity!
