On Sunday, September 22, I will walk in my third Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk. Thousands of other walkers will choose to walk a 5K, 10K, half marathon, or full marathon along the historic Boston Marathon route.
I challenge myself to walk the full route, 26. 2 miles, across my home state of Massachusetts. The first step is in Hopkinton and continues through the towns of Ashton, Framingham, Natick, Wellesley, Newton, Brookline and Brighton. After many hours, I’ll step across the finish line near the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Copley Square in downtown Boston.
The Walk is again sponsored by Hyundai and walkers receive stickers at each of the thirteen “water stops” along the way.
Join me as we take steps toward the ultimate finish line--a world without cancer. When you make a gift to the 2019 Walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve patients and their families.
Last year about 8500 walkers raised 8.5 million dollars!
I thank you for your support, prayers and donations as I train for my 3rd Jimmy Fund Walk. I am proud to say that together with friends and family we raised $8119.86 for the two previous walks.
As a 9 year breast cancer survivor, I'm living proof that TOGETHER we CAN conquer cancer!
