This year will be a Virtual Walk- Your Way... walking the Half Marathon, just not in Boston!
We started this team 10 years ago in support of my sister Suzie, who lost a very difficult battle with Stage 4 Lung cancer in 2014. Our team continues to walk in her memory in the hopes of finding a cure.
When I registered for the walk in January 2020, little did I know what challenges lay ahead. In March, COVID 19 changed what we considered normal life and put all of our lives on pause. Unfortunately, Cancer did not take a pause!! In April, my big brother and fellow teammate, Jack, was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) and progressed to Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He is currently awaiting a Stem Cell Transplant. I have the privilege of being his donor and will travel to Florida when Jack is ready for his transplant! My hope is for a successful transplant and cancer cure!
When you make a gift to my walk, you're directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
