"Though she be but little, she is fierce."
I had never heard this Shakespearean quote before. I guess I should've paid more attention in high school English class. This quote became our rallying cry during Teaghan's battle with cancer. A family member had sent us this quote in a frame, and we hung it on our door at the hospital. Even today, Teaghan has this quote hung all over her bedroom. She is the epitome of this phrase.
I was also given a mantra bracelet with this quote. I wear it every day. It reminds me that no matter how bad I think my day is, I've seen worse, because I've seen my 2 year old daughter fight cancer.
I walk for Teaghan. I walk for the families we met on our journey. I walk for family and friends who have been touched by this disease. I walk because for the last 30 years of the Jimmy Fund Walk others have participated, and because of them I now have a healthy, thriving 6 year old. I walk because walking saves lives.
