First, thank you for visiting my page!
I am walking because my dad has leukemia and lymphoma. Usually I do the 6 mile walk, but this year, I am joining my mom and brother to walk a half-marathon! That is over 13 MILES!!!! I know it can be tough, but nothing is as tough as fighting cancer. I should know - I have watched my Dad fight for 6 years now. I don't even remember when my Dad didn't have cancer.
Plus, this year, the walk is on Daddy's birthday! He says he's happy it's on his birthday and that it's a wonderful present!
Dana Farber means a lot to me because it helps Daddy with treatments. There is also fun things to do there, so when we go there to visit, we can make Dana Farber Days fun and not so scary. They do so much for patients and their families, like having games to play with Daddy while he gets his treatment, Art Programs so we can make pictures for Daddy, and the meditation room is peaceful and beautiful to visit. It has trees and they pipe in the sounds of birds chirping. It has glass walls, so the sunlight comes in, and you can look out the window and watch the people.
Mostly, Dana Farber wants to cure cancer. They have a lot of clinical trials to help patients when normal treatments don't work. I know they work VERY hard to find something to help my Dad.
I love Dana Farber, and I love my Dad, so I am really excited to walk for both of them!
Thank you for helping me!!
