Dear Family and Friends,
This coming September 23rd I am participating in the 2018 Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk, taking steps toward the ultimate finish: a world without cancer!!!!!
I am walking in memory of my late wife, Vonne Foster, who bravely fought Stage 4 Lung Cancer for 17 months before losing her battle on December 19th, 2017.
In 2017, Vonne participated with family and close friends in our 1st Jimmy Fund Walk on team 'Vonne Strong'. That year Vonne had the great honor of being selected by Dana Farber as one of 52 Walk Day Heroes.
Although she was unable to walk the entire marathon course, Vonne spent
much of her time on the course cheering, high fiving and serving as an
inspiration to all the walkers as they passed by. It was a truly
humbling experience for all, as well as a great feeling of being able to
raise money to support cancer research. Having never been a smoker
herself and being diagnosed with such a horrible disease, Vonne always
maintained a positive outlook and remained strong throughout her entire
Vonne took with her great pride in knowing that even while battling for
her own life, her contributions towards cancer research were some of the
greatest gifts she was able to make. Not only did she participate in
clinical trials, she always agreed to contribute to many other studies
along the way, all while receiving her many different chemo and
immunotherapy treatments. Her ability to give back and pay it forward was unwavering.
If you would like to donate please visit the link below or to the upper right.
Last year donors graciously gave more than $8700 to support my walk and the team surpassed the $16,000 mark. We've set the bar high and hope to surpass that number in this year's walk.
Also, I would be grateful if you would check with your employer's Human Resources department to find out if your organization will match the gift and double the impact.
Thank you in advance for your time and generosity! I appreciate any support. Every little bit goes a long way.
