I am participating in the 2023 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai, taking steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
I am walking this year as a cancer survivor. Dana Farber's researchers, nurses, and doctors have provided care for me over the past forty years. I have been extremely fortunate in my many courses of treatment for various forms of cancer. I am also walking for others fighting cancer now. I walk in memory of my brother, Edward, who lost his battle to pancreatic cancer at the young age of 55 and in honor of Bob Dion, Linda's dad, who lost his battle to esophageal cancer. I walk in memory of and in honor of many other family members and friends. I will be holding Sharla Caico in my heart as I walk. She fought valiantly and did so much to help others. She was a dear friend and colleague and a proud mother of five beautiful children.
