As many of you may know, the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk, on Sunday, October 4th, that I was going to participate in for the third year, has been canceled for this year, and replaced with Jimmy Fund Walk Your Way.
Jimmy Fund Walk Your Way allows me to walk 26.2 miles anywhere that I choose, instead of the Boston Marathon route. I am planning to do just that! I haven’t worked out the specifics yet, but my commitment is just as strong to walk the full distance, as it has been for the
past two years.
This year has been a particularly difficult one for me, as I have lost a very good friend to cancer. My friend, lost her battle with brain cancer this July. She was a person who was full of life. She enjoyed traveling, her “Cape” house, her hiking, history and most of all, her time with her family. Den and I have been so lucky to be a small part of her family, and we miss her very much.
I understand that 2020 has given us all our share of challenges, but I feel very strongly that the research that is done at Dana-Farber needs to continue, and can do that by being supported by all of us.
I have been a Pacesetter walker for the past 2 years and would like to continue to be a Pacesetter this year. A Pacesetter is committed to raise $1500. When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting the Dana-Farber unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows the Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
My walk this year is dedicated to all those who have beaten cancer, those that are struggling with cancer and those that we all have lost
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk Your Way. Together, we CAN conquer cancer!
