I sit here on a crisp fall night in New England, writing again about yet another Jimmy Fund Walk. I have lost track of how many walks I have participated in. Last year was a different year to say the least, and I walked with a colleague, making our own 26 mile route through the neighborhoods of Boston.
This year though we have more than two in our group, and we will continue to miss the feeling we got in prior years when walking with thousands together for the same cause.
Last Spring, instead of taking care of cancer patients, my team took care of Covid patients for a few weeks. Fortunately, we stayed well overall physically; and to be honest, still feel the trauma of it all, and the ongoing, never-ending needs in the hospital. No bed stays empty long (fortunately, for now, our Covid cases are relatively few). If I learned anything from last year, it is that Uncertainty is here to stay, at least for a little while, and to be grateful for all that I do have and am able to do.
I am extremely grateful for the support you have given me over the years, the friendship, the interest in what we do, and the donations. Small or large, all help us help our patients.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for supporting my Jimmy Fund Walk fundraising efforts. Together, we can make a difference.
