On September 22 I will be participating in my ninth Jimmy Fund Walk. I will make the 26.2 mile trek from Hopkinton to Boston to raise money for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Once again this year I will be walking with Team Diane to raise money for Dr. Ursula Matalonis and her colleagues who treat ovarian other female cancers. Ovarian and breast cancer have affected so many friends and it is my hope that the money I raise can help support research to address early detection and successful treatments for these cancers. Two years ago this fall I lost my dear friend Maggie Luck after an eight year struggle with ovarian cancer and it is my hope that the money I raise will help make this cancer more treatable in the future.
When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and passionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
I appreciate any and all support you can give. Last year, thanks to the generosity of my family and friends I raised over $4000 for Dana Farber and I will hope to do the same this year.
