This has been a difficult year for all of us. We are dealing with some of our own challenges. Stephen had brain surgery in early May for a brain mass. It ended up being a benign hemangioma. He is scheduled for thyroid surgery in July, so we have been doing a lot of anxious waiting.
My brother, Jack, was recently diagnosed with leukemia. He just finished 30 days of aggressive inpatient chemotherapy. He came home last week and is doing well, hanging in there. The plan is for him to have a bone marrow transplant, sometime late summer. I am hoping to be a match so I can be his donor.
Cancer is all around us and we must keep praying for those who are fighting and continue to support organizations, like the Jimmy Fund, so one day we will reach the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
I know this has been a tough year for many, emotionally, physically and financially. I am asking for whatever you can comfortably donate. Whatever you are able to donate will make a difference.
