In 2015 I battled and won my fight with cancer. Throughout my surgery, recovery, Radiation, and recovery again the Dana Farber supported me every step. Cancer is stressful and scary. At the Dana Farber they treat all of you. Your cancer, your recovery, your mind, spirit, and body. They helped me every step of the way.
In May of 2019 I was diagnosed again. With a new cancer in the same region. My journey begins again. This time the cancer is more aggressive, so my Dana Farber team and I are being more aggressive too. Together we have begun my road to recovery. My amazing team of doctors performed an 8 hour surgery to remove all of the cancer in my mouth and the lymph nodes on the left side of my neck. At that time they also did reconstruction surgery to replace what cancer took. Cancer and treatment is scary. My team of doctors, nurses, speech and swallow specialists, nutritionists, social workers, and chaplains continue to help me heal and adjust. They make it less scary. To them I'm important. We're all on Team Lynn and focused on getting rid of my cancer and helping me be the best me I can.
I'm recovering from the surgery now. And hope to say "I've beaten cancer" again soon. Supporting me and the Jimmy Fund Walk supports real people like me who are fighting to kick cancers butt!
