Hello,
For what I think is the 17th year I will be participating in the 2020 Boston Marathon(R) Jimmy Fund Walk: Your Way presented by Hyundai, taking steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer! We have had to find our own 26.2 mile route this year. We will be walking in Maine. Due to COVID-19 the traditional walk has been canceled. We will miss walking the Boston Marathon route with all the cheerleaders and beautiful signs along the way, but we are going to have an awesome day no matter what! Many people ask why we do it and sometimes we have to ask ourselves the same question. I sometimes ask if it's all worth it. We lost my dad this year. He fought and fought and although he was diagnosed with one of the worst types of cancer… Pancreatic cancer… we were able to spend much more time with him than we would have even a few years ago. Every year I have to add more names to the list of people I walk for who have battled or are battling. I am hopeful for a year where I do not have to add any names and just walk to support the research!
When you make a gift to my walk, you're directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
