I am participating in the 2019 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai, taking steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer!
Before I was born, my Mom lost her twin brother to Hodgkin Disease, a type of cancer which is now much more curable, thanks to research like that which is done at Dana Farber.
In May of 2016, we lost my Uncle Dill (pictured above) to cancer which moved to his lungs. I was lucky enough to have him in my life for many years, and to get to know him and his quirky and amazing spirit. Everyone who knew him loved him. (This is often said, but in this case, it's the gospel truth.)
I will walk this year in memory of my uncles as well as in honor of those who are cancer survivors, and many others lost too soon.
When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
