It's me again! I am so thrilled to be participating in the 2019 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk for my THIRD YEAR to help take steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer!
It's hard to wrap my head around the fact that it's been almost three years since my boyfriend, Nick passed away after his six-year battle with Rhabdomyosarcoma. During his time at Jimmy Fund Clinic, he had access the best treatments, including an experimental drug which allowed him to feel like himself again. It gave him a lot of extra time to travel, live life to the fullest and fall in love (with me!) His fearless heart and gentle courage guide me every day and I'd give anything to see his big smile or hear his contagious laugh again.
It is my greatest hope that one day another young man will walk out of his treatment cured and free to live a bright, carefree life.
Until then, we run, we walk, we fight. So let's get going!
Recently, I completed my interior design capstone project based on Dana-Farber & what I learned from Nick. Check out the story here!
Last year, I wrote a blog post talking more about why I walk. Read it here!
When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
