Once again I am participating in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk to benefit the Dana Farber Cancer Institute on Oct. 3rd. This year the Plodding Platelets will be attempting the 26.2 mile course in honor of all of those in the process of cancer treatment and memory of all our family members and friends who have succumbed to this disease. The Boston venue for this event was canceled but we will do the "virtual" event locally - there's no stopping us.
Thanks to the excellent and compassionate care at DF and Brigham and Women's Hospital, I have been doing well since the stem cell transplant in 2016 with no further reoccurrence of Leukemia. My heart goes out to all dealing with the severe immune system effects of this treatment during the pandemic. In any situation, I know Dana Farber is there to provide support and lead the way to wellness.
When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care (which also includes holistic health) Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer. Along with Dana Farber, I am deeply grateful for the love, support, and prayers from my family, friends, coworkers and all the folks at Tong Ren. Collectively we can all make a difference.
Be well and enjoy!
