Before my son, Jake, passed away from Osteosarcoma in February of 2019, two days before his 19th birthday, he made me and his sister, Halle, promise that we would continue to raise funds for childhood cancer and osteosarcoma research so in the future, no child would have to go through what he went through.
Childhood cancer remains the leading cause of death by disease among children in the United States with 43 children being diagnosed with cancer every day and that number is steadily going up each year. 1 out of every 8 children will not survive but childhood cancer only gets 4% of the National Cancer Institute’s budget with only 4 cancer treatments being specifically developed and approved for children in the last 20 years.
We need to raise funds that will specifically go towards childhood cancer research so more cures can be found and these statistics start going down instead of up.
When you make a gift to my Walk, you’re directly supporting childhood cancer and osteosarcoma research.
Thank you for supporting my Jimmy Fund Walk fundraising efforts. Together, we can defy cancer!
