Dear Friends and Family,
This is surely a different year in almost every way including the Jimmy Fund Walk. I hope you have each remained well and are coping in all the ways that the covid virus has made us alter the way we live. I know what I miss most is being able to hug those I love.
What has definitely not changed is that people are still being diagnosed with cancer and the very difficult time it brings those who have it and the ones they love. The need for more research and new treatments has not changed. The anxiety, fear and pain cancer brings has not changed. Helping to provide the necessary funds to care for patients and to develop new treatments and cures is why I walk again this fall.
I realize this is a very hard time for so many. If you are able please support my walk as generously as you can. As I do every year I will have the names of all I know who are surviving cancer or have died on ribbons on my shirt. Please let me know if there is someone you would like me to honor in this way.
This year I will walk in honor of my friend Peggy who died last November. Peggy not only cared for herself during her long illness but she generously participated in numerous clinical trials which will aid researchers in developing new treatments for women with ovarian cancer. Thank you Peg! We miss you very much but keep your beautiful smile in our hearts.
Also I am walking for my lovely friends, James, Cyrilla and their sweet baby, JC. We admire your perseverance, positivity and courage as well as love you.
To each of you, thank you very much for being a part of life. Please stay well and safe as we navigate this difficult time in our country.
please feel free to mail me donations at home Just be certain to make out the check to JFW .
