Why I walk? The answer is simple - no child should have to go through the grueling process of fighting cancer and no parent should have to watch their child go through it. From the day we were told Alexa has cancer through her 2 years of treatment, she never said why me. She had many rough days but for the most part she lived life how a child should. As her mom, I didn’t want her childhood to be different than any other child’s but it was. Alexa at age 5 had almost a 2 month hospital stay at Children’s and weekly Jimmy Fund visits that could last the whole day. When most kids were eating breakfast to go to school, Alexa would receive a treatment of chemo and then beg to go to school after. Fast forward, 10 years later, Alexa a healthy 16 year old and feeling good. This is due to the medical treatment she received. The Jimmy Fund is a remarkable place and when you make a gift to our walk, you’re directly supporting the Jimmy Fund with initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
