Dear Family, Friends and Colleagues,
On September 23, 2018, I will participate in the 30th annual Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk to support cancer research and patient care at Dana Farber Cancer Institute. This is my first time participating in this event, and my goal is to complete the full 26.2 mile Boston Marathon route. I am asking that you please make a donation to support my walk in hopes that I will reach my personal fundraising goal, which will also bring us one step closer to defeating cancer.
Each one of us has been, or will be, affected by cancer at some point in our lives. In September 2016, my mom lost her battle with a very rare and aggressive type of breast cancer. Despite her struggle, my mom’s strength and perseverance during her illness greatly inspired me then, and it motivates me even more today. This is why I am proud to play an integral part in the mission to ultimately find a cure for such a ruthless disease. I will be walking not only in memory of my mom, but for all those who have succumbed to cancer, and for all cancer patients who continue to fight for their lives. I will also walk to celebrate cancer survivors. Your contributions, in any amount, will breathe much needed life into groundbreaking research, increase the availability of genetically-based clinical trials, and will help to sustain state-of-the-art cancer facilities. When you give to Dana Farber and the Jimmy Fund, you are making a worthwhile investment, one with the potential for an optimal rate of return...a world without cancer.
So, let's make a difference. Let's make it count. Let's not let cancer win.
I am truly grateful for your kindness and support.
