I am participating in this year's 2018 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk. I'm walking this year in fond memory of two people who lost their battle against cancer last fall: my neighbor Mary de Smet (I miss our conversations about chickens!) who left us way too young, and fellow Brandeisian John Lisman, who taught all who were watching an amazing lesson on how to live and enjoy life to the fullest, every minute we are alive.
I will also carry with me the names of women who have touched my life who have fought or are currently fighting breast cancer: Emogene, Nancy, Becky J., Carole, Carol, Lucy, Sandy, Mary R., Heather, Heidi, Shiva, Kelly S., Rosemary, Betty K., Shirley, and Rachel. Too many!
When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
