This year’s walk is virtual, but fighting cancer is all too real.
Last year I was walking with hope for 4 year old Sophie as she battled a rare form of brain cancer, and for a friend’s wife as she battled ovarian cancer, and I walked in gratitude for my brother as he celebrated a period of “quietness” in his cancer battle.
This year I will be remembering Sophie and Lidia, both of whom succumbed to this dreadful disease during the recent months.
My incredible brother has been recovering from another painful surgery and a new round of treatments. I will be walking in hope that this will get him back to the “quietness” and strength he enjoyed last year.
When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
