In 2017, the Coughlin family created the Michael Coughlin Lung Cancer Research Fund in memory of Michael, who passed away from lung cancer in November 2016. The goal of the fund is to raise $100,000 for the thoracic oncology team at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death among both men and women in the United States.
Over the past several years, doctors have made promising strides in their understanding and treatment of the disease. The team at Dana-Farber have played a leading role in that research, offering cutting-edge clinical trials and researching many facets of the disease including familial lung cancer, lung cancer in non-smokers, and more. Their work could one day change the practice of medicine, and funding is critical to their efforts.
Please join us in supporting the doctors at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as they work to conquer cancer.
