On April 26, 2016 I was diagnosed with IDC (invasive ductal carcinoma). I had surgery and 51 weeks of chemo, and I finished treatment just over a year ago. Some days it feels like yesterday and other days it feels like a lifetime ago. I will be forever grateful to Dana Farber and my team of Doctors and Nurses at Dana Farber who took care of me, and still do. Dana Farber is like a second home to me. I am also so very grateful for my family, Brian and Olivia, I love you both so much. Additionally, I am so grateful for my extended family and amazing group of supportive friends including Jackie, my mentor and good friend (and now I believe you that I can go a day without thinking about it, because I do!). You all played an integral part in helping us through a most difficult year, we can never thank you all enough. Please join me in contributing to my walk so we can ensure more patients like me can get access to the best care and research possible.
I am participating in the 2018 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai, taking steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer!
