I am participating in the 2020 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai, taking steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer! I began participating in the Jimmy Fund Walk in 2014, because of my dear friend (pictured above) Colleen Sullivan. Colleen was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 39. Because of the amazing, state of the art, compassionate care that she received from Dana Farber, she is still here with me to walk in our 7th walk this year. We have set a team goal to raise $20,000 in 2020!
I began to walk because of Colleen, but I continue to walk in support of those who are still fighting, in the hopes that we can find a cure for this horrible disease. This year we are walking to raise money for colon cancer research and patient care at Dana Farber. My father is a colon cancer survivor. We will also be walking alongside a friend who was recently diagnosed with colon cancer and is in treatment and another friend who recently lost her husband to this disease.
When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
