I am dedicating my walk this year to my friend Eric who lives in Albuquerque. Eric & his family previously lived in Dedham and when he received the diagnosis of Langerhans Histiocytosis Cell he traveled to DFCI for a second opinion. This type of cancer is usually found in children and the Albuquerque physicians hadn’t treated it in an adult. Eric’s treatment plan comes directly from DFCI and administered in Albuquerque.
Recently Eric began the 10th of 12 chemo sessions. He is eagerly waiting to “ring the bell” signifying the end of chemo and praying to hear the words “the cancer is in remission!” When you make a gift to my walk you are supporting Eric and helping him to “ring the bell” and hear the word remission!
Your gift directly supports Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
