In 2016 and 2017, I walked in the Avon 39-mile Walk To End Breast Cancer. In April 2018, I was diagnosed with advanced stage-3 breast cancer. Really?! This was a shocking, scary and life-altering diagnosis for me and it resulted in a much longer physical and emotional battle than I anticipated. After 5 biopsies, 5 surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, a 2-yr clinical drug trial and the greatest care from my medical team at Dana Farber, I am thrilled to say that I am now officially in remission! I have never once doubted the medical or emotional care that I received from my amazing team of oncologists, surgeons, PA’s, nurses, social workers, technicians, etc. I still have to go to Dana-Farber for bloodwork, injections, infusions and scans and I still have a surgery that still has to be scheduled, but I am positive, every day, that we have kicked cancer’s butt!!!! THANK YOU, DANA FARBER CANCER INSTITUTE!!!!
On September 26th, I am now participating in the 2021 Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk: Your Way presented by Hyundai, taking steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer!
When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and compassionate patient care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my Jimmy Fund Walk fundraising efforts. Together, we can conquer cancer!
