Every year when I sit down at the computer to write why I am walking to fight cancer, I always find myself lacking words. The words I choose need to fill the reader with a sense of hope that we together can fight cancer. For that hope is why friends and family would want to donate in support of me. Yet, it seems impossible to articlulate my thinking. Having been a part of this walk for the last 4 years, it is the physical participation in the day's event that fills me with my own hope. How can I convey what I feel on walk day to you, in the desire for you to donate? These feelings are not something one can wrap words around. So I ask you to please trust in me, my cause and my continuous involvement in this fundraiser. I ask you to allow me to carry your hope for a world without cancer. I ask you to let me be a part of a day that is much bigger than each of us as individuals, yet small enough for us to feel like a part of the fight. I promise you that on Sunday, September 22nd, your donation will be a representation of the hope that you each have for a win against cancer. I walk 4U and your hope.
