For the second year, I am participating in the Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai, taking steps toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer!
I am again walking in support of my cousin Blaine but this time to celebrate him kicking cancer. Just 11 months ago at age 25, Blaine was diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. During that time, he underwent four rounds of intense chemotherapy, countless treatments, and invasive procedures. The incredible thing is that Blaine came out the other side - pretty beat up but cancer-free - and is now set to resume his life. Although he will need treatments to keep everything in check for a few years, Blaine has been able to begin the next phase in his life which cancer put on pause for a year. Blaine has just gone back to school to work towards his MBA and has even got engaged. I am walking for the Jimmy Fund because, the research and the science matters; Blaine is proof of that.
When you make a gift to my walk, you’re directly supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
