Hi Family & Friends,
On Sunday, October 2nd, I will once again walk in the Jimmy Fund Walk. I am thrilled that the team of Lepley's Laceups will be heading into Boston to walk part of the famed Boston Marathon route this year after a two year gap due to COVID.
Once again, it's hard to believe that a year has passed since my last walk. The walk measures how quickly life passes in general and for me, it a way of calibrating where I am along my journey with lung cancer. In June of this year, I passed a major milestone - the two year mark with no recurrence of cancer. With this good news comes an extended period of time between scans - now every six months - and the additional hope that mine was a "one & done" occurrence.
I am grateful for the on-going screenings and surveillance which give me important peace of mind. I continue to be so grateful for the excellent care I received and continue to receive through Dana Farber.
This year I met multiple people through my work as an End-of-Life Doula who have also benefited from life extending treatments at Dana-Farber and feel as passionate as I do about the importance of the work done there to accelerate research and patient care.
It's for my personal situation and for all of the many other people I know who have benefited from the kind of cancer research done at Dana Farber that I have pledged to raise funds for critical research and innovative patient care provided by Dana-Farber.
Please join me in the fight against cancer by considering a contribution toward my fundraising efforts. If you have already donated to Lepley's Laceups, thank you for helping us reach our team goal.
