In July 2017, just months after welcoming our baby daughter Sydney into the world and a week before our older daughter Alana's fourth birthday, my husband Rob was diagnosed with stage 4 head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. We were overwhelmed by the uncertainty of what the future held. After difficult and painful surgeries, 7 weeks of radiation treatment, and enduring unimaginable pain, recovery started slowly and continues to this day. We were incredibly fortunate to have a skilled, caring, compassionate team of doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, SLP, nutritionist, and staff at Dana-Farber who helped make the treatment successful. We were also blessed with family and friends who helped with rides to appointments, childcare, thoughtful gifts, and supported us through this heart wrenchingly challenging time. After all we were given, we want to help others in need, which is why we are walking on September 23rd and raising money for Rob's treating radiation oncologist, Dr. Jonathan Schoenfeld. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the support you continue to give our family.
