On Sunday, September 23, I will participate for a ninth year in the Jimmy Fund Walk to benefit the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. I am walking in loving memory of my dad, Larry Alexander, who received extensive treatment from Dana-Farber for a rare blood disorder until his death in November 2012. This will be my sixth time walking the entire 26.2-mile Boston Marathon route.
My dad was a huge supporter of Dana-Farber and felt that they provided him with amazing care. Throughout his illness, he was confident that the doctors and others on his medical team were committed to improving his health. Thousands of patients and their families turn to Dana-Farber every year for the best possible care for cancer and other related diseases. At Dana-Farber, physicians and researchers employ the most advanced treatments available, as well as provide incredible support for patients and their families.
Please consider making a gift to this phenomenal institution in memory of my dad. Your gift will help further its mission by advancing the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cancer and other related diseases like my dad's.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and support. It means so much to me and my family.
