On Sunday, Sept. 22nd, I will be walking part of the world famous Boston Marathon course in the 31st annual Jimmy Fund Walk. I've pledged to raise funds that will be used to support the needs of patients and families followed by the Pediatric Advanced Care Team (PACT) or the palliative care team at Boston Children's Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. I am humbly asking you to please consider a financial gift in support of my walk.
PACT support the treatment of the underlying illness while striving for optimal quality of life, regardless of diagnosis or prognosis. Through a family-centered approach, we promote healing, comfort, and making childhood experiences meaningful.
Please know that all funds donated to me or my team (Kessler's Crew/ PACT Pack) go directly to PACT's Quality of Life Fund. We on the palliative care team use these funds to help support patients and families facing serious and life-threatening illness, which often includes long hospital stays, significant impacts to care and quality of life, and large financial burden. Funds raised in the past have gone to everything from a trip to the Boston Aquarium for a child undergoing challenging treatments, air conditioning units for families having to care for a family member at home, communication devices for a child neurologically impacted by their illness, to a simple cup of coffee for a worried parent. We additionally utilize these funds to support our bereavement program which includes various resources and books for parents, grandparents, siblings and caregivers who have had to face the loss of a child or loved one.
Please join me in supporting this incredibly important and deserving cause.
