I am a believer in honoring those that have been taken from us because they had cancer. Here's our story:
We "R" (our team name) began this journey in 2003 When four staff members, or spouses of staff members at our middle school were diagnosed with cancer, or lost the battle to cancer. Since that time, more friends and colleagues have also been diagnosed, fought or lost their battle. When I think of all the people who have struggled with or are fighting right now that I know, I am empowered to do something for them so that others may never have to. When I think about those who have lost their lives due to cancer, I need to do something in their memory so I can honor their lives. When you make a gift to me you are supporting the organization that will provide those who have been diagnosed with the tools they need to engage in the battle of their lives. Your gift also directly supports Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique 50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and highly compassionate cancer care. Your support allows Dana-Farber leaders to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
Thank you for supporting my participation in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. Together, we can conquer cancer!
