On Sunday, September 22, 2019, I am participating in my second Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Jimmy Fund Walk. I am planning on walking the Half Marathon Route from Wellesley, MA to Boston. This year, however, in addition to the terrific people who supported my walk last year, I am thrilled that Stuart will be joining me on the walk.
Stuart has had a terrific year. He completed his rounds of chemotherapy at the end of September 2018. Since then, his blood work and scans have all been clear. He has regained his strength (and more!) and has been able to return to the activities and pursuits about which he is passionate.
Our family is incredibly grateful for the support, care and expertise that we received from the entire staff at Dana-Farber. On every visit to Dana-Farber, we felt such extraordinary concern and regard, not only for our family but for all of the patients and families who were among us. What a gift it is to have this amazing resource available!
So, today, Stuart and I are asking for your help in making a contribution towards our fundraising efforts on behalf of the 31st Annual Jimmy Fund Walk and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. We’ve pledged to raise funds to be used to support critical cancer research that is vital for pediatric and adult patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Unfortunately, cancer affects all of us. Many of us have friends and family members who have faced the challenges presented by a diagnosis of cancer. Funding for cancer research can have such an enormous impact for all of us. We understand that we all have competing financial commitments, but with your support you can help conquer this dreaded disease and we can all move closer to the ultimate goal: a world without cancer.
Thank you so much for your generosity and consideration. Stuart and I so appreciate your support!
