I am participating in the 2021 Dana-Farber Jimmy Fund Walk and I look forward to your support. This year, due to Covid-19 safety concerns, once again the walk will be a personal event where each participant determines his/her own route and selects the time and day of the walk. The route I am planning to walk is the 17-mile coast of New Hampshire, starting at the border in Salisbury, MA and finishing on the Memorial Bridge in Kittery, ME. Stuart is planning on accompanying me on his bicycle!
Unfortunately, nearly all of us have friends or family members who have been touched by cancer in one of its many forms. The effect on the patients and those left behind can be devastating. Our family has lost friends and family members to bladder, pancreatic, brain, breast, and lung cancers.
My wonderful husband Stuart, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and underwent surgery and chemotherapy in 2018, continues to be seen at Dana-Farber for regular checkups to monitor his health. We are delighted that his most recent bloodwork and scans indicate that he remains cancer free. His terrific doctors and the entire staff at Dana-Farber have supported us with expert care, delivered in a compassionate manner through every step of Stuart’s journey. Dana-Farber has also provided genetic counseling that may help our children prevent future cancers. We feel so fortunate to have this amazing resource available to our family and to the greater community. Dana-Farber continues to provide support, information, research, treatment, and HOPE for cancer patients and their family and friends!
When you contribute to my walk, your support goes directly to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s unique
50-50 balance between cutting-edge science and supportive patient care. Funds raised through the Jimmy Fund Walk enable the Dana-Farber staff to enhance programs and initiatives that serve pediatric and adult patients and their families.
So, once again I ask you to please join me in continuing the fight against cancer by considering a contribution towards my fundraising efforts.
The reality is that cancer affects all of us. By doing my part to help conquer this disease with your support, we can all move closer to the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and time. I appreciate your help. Please stay safe.
Yours in health,
