Dear Family and Friends,
Thank you so much for coming to my fundraising page.
This year I will be walking in loving memory of my dear sister, Andrea, who was taken away from us much too soon in March. With her diagnosis coming from left field, Andrea fought with such bravery against a cancer that was terrible and unforgiving, enduring therapy after therapy for just over a year. In typical fashion, she never once complained, showing grace and quiet strength through it all. The pain of her loss is indescribable as I miss her so much everyday.
Less than two weeks after losing Andrea, my mom lost her oldest sister and in June, lost her youngest sister, both to cancer. Seeing my mom soldier through all of this has been especially difficult; there are so many unanswered questions. Cancer doesn't discriminate. Nobody should have to go through the pain it causes.
In previous years, I've hung ribbons up for all those dear to me affected by the disease on the Honor Wall at the finish area. Each year, the number of ribbons I put up increases. I will do it again this year as I continue to walk for cures. Hope is a powerful thing. Scientists, researchers, doctors and nurses work tirelessly towards a common goal of finding ways to beat this horrible disease.
Please consider helping to fund for their research.
Thank you so much in advance for your support.
Together, we can make strides towards a world without cancer.
With much love and peace to all,
Edwina
